To promote economic diversification and prosperity in the Greater North Fork, California area.
To support and enhance community services and facilities that serve the public.
To manage growth and preserve small town qualities.
To work with county, state, and federal government agencies and other institutions to promote community benefit for the greater North Fork area.
Although it performs many activities to support the community, the primary project for the CDC is converting the 135 acre abandoned mill site which was donated to the County Redevelopment Agency for conversion into productive business and community recreational space for North Fork.

The annual meeting of the North Fork CDC will be held on Tuesday, March 25 at 6 pm at Kennedy Hall at the North Fork School.
Three at large Board positions are open and to be filled by election of the members.

Madera County will be presenting a Certificate of Recognition to the Madera County Code Enforcement Department, the Madera County Sheriff’s Department and the North Fork Community Development Council for the excellent job that was done in setting up and holding the tire collection this past Saturday.
According to the Sheriff, over 600 tires were collected. The presentation will be Tuesday morning, January 19 at 9 a.m. in the Supervisor’s meeting chambers in Madera. All are welcome to be there to see this.

On August 21, 2007, the Madera County Board of Supervisors approved a Brownfields Loan of up to $900,000 for the CDC to use for clean-up of the mill site. This funding is from a million dollar EPA revolving loan fund grant the County received in 2002, to be able to loan to contaminated sites within the County, to be used for clean-up.

The North Fork CDC and Madera County working together have affected removal of some 2k cubic yards of contaminated soil from underground storage tank locations.

Effective immediately the North Fork CDC office will be closed on Mondays.
Our operating hours will be Tues - Fri from 8 am to 4:30 pm
The North Fork CDC Mill Site Reuse project will benefit from removal of contaminated soil beginning shortly.

The North Fork CDC has entered an agreement with Integrated Engineers Inc of Oakhurst for design build completion of the North Fork Mill Site Reuse Water System Phase 2.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Brownfield’s Assessment Grant Project was completed on April 30, 2006 at the former North Fork Mill site located at 57839 Road 225 in North Fork, California.

After a long and winding road of mill site reuse studies and clean up the North Fork CDC will officially take title to the former sawmill!
The Madera County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved entering an agreement with the CDC that will precipitate the transfer of title this month.
This will allow the CDC to move projects forward more efficiently and effectively.
Madera County had been holding the site through its Redevelopment Agency in trust for the public, specifically North Fork, and will require the North Fork CDC to meet specific requirements in order for the transfer to be completed.
