CDC Accomplishments
Following is the Statement of Program Service Accomplishments – Year 2009 prepared by Jill Mross, the CDC Grant Administrator. The CDC is proud of the work Jill has done and the accomplishments achieved thus far by the CDC.
The following was accomplished by the North Fork Community Development Council in 2008:
- Through the implementation of the Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund Agreement issued to NFCDC by Madera County, and a Brownfields Grant through the Environmental Protection Agency, NFCDC has been able to complete the process of asbestos abatement in all kiln and boiler buildings, as well as the demolition of these buildings.
- The Removal Action Work Plan for the Brownfields Clean-Up Project continued through 2008 with the RAW seeing completion in late April 2009. This work plan includes plans for the removal of contaminated soil from the former dip tank area and for the removal of a waste pile from the ‘upper deck’ of the mill site. The actual work is scheduled for September 2009, and will be reported on in its completeness in the Year 2010 Statement of Program Service Accomplishments.
- Water system construction occurred in July / August of 2008. Approximately 2,000 lineal feet of 10” pipe was laid underground and positioned from the well to service potential future projects that are built on the site. Telemetry well control as well as a fire hydrant was also installed. This work was completed as part of a Housing & Urban Development Economic Development Initiative Grant.
Please note that all grants received are from the United States (federal) government. The Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund Agreement, while originating from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, is issued to NFCDC through Madera County.
